Tamilnadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC): Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is a department of the government of Tamil Nadu which is responsible for governing the recruitment of personnel into the state’s public service. It is the successor of the Madras Service Commission, which came into being under an Act of the Madras Legislature in 1929 and was the first Provincial Public Service Commission in India. It adopted its current name in 1970. It operates under Articles 315 to 323 of Part XIV of the Constitution of India.

TNPSC Group 4 Exam 2016 Eligibility Criteria:

 Educational Qualification: (As on 09.08.2016)

For Junior Assistant (Non – Security), Junior Assistant (Security), Bill Collector, Grade-I, Field Surveyor, Draftsman Posts – Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of studies.

For Typist Posts – Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of studies.

Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting:-

(i) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English (or)

(ii) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/ Junior Grade in English (or)

 (iii) by Higher / Senior Grade in English and Lower/ Junior Grade in Tamil.

For Steno-Typist, Grade-III Posts – Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of studies.

Must have passed the Government Technical Examination both in Typewriting and in Shorthand:-

(i) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English (or)

(ii) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/ Junior Grade in English (or)

(iii) by Higher / Senior Grade in English and Lower/ Junior Grade in Tamil.
