TNPSC District Educational Officer (DEO) Selection Process:
The selection will be made in three successive stages viz., (i) Preliminary Examination for selection of applicants for admission to the Main Examination, (ii) Main Examination and (iii) Viva–Voce Test
TNPSC District Educational Officer (DEO) Exam Details:
The candidates for admission to Main Examination will be shortlisted as decided by the Commission at a ratio not exceeding 50 times of the number of vacancies following the rule of reservation. However, in each reservation group, all the applicants, who secure the same marks as that of the cut off marks of their reservation groups shall also be admitted to the Main Written Examination, though the number of applicants to be admitted to the Main Written Examination may exceed 1:50 ratio.
Candidates for Viva Voce Test will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:2 or 1:3 with reference to the number of vacancies as specified in “Instructions to Applicants” under the heading “Procedure of Selection”.

Centre for Main Examination: Main Written Examination will be held at Chennai only.
NOTE:
(i) Request for change of examination centre / venue will not be entertained (For further details refer to the “Instructions to Applicants”).
(ii) The Commission reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of examination centres and to re-allot the applicants accordingly.
(iii) Applicants should appear for the written examinations / certificate verification / oral test at their own expenses.
Exam Pattern for TNPSC District Educational Officer (DEO) Posts:
Note
a) The question paper will be set in both English and Tamil.
b) Refer para 22 of the “Instructions to Applicants” in regard to Instructions to be followed while appearing for Competitive Examination conducted by the Commission.
c) Candidates who have not appeared for any of the papers in the main written examination and oral test will not be considered for final selection. (For further details refer to para. 23 (b) of the “Instructions to Applicants”)
