NIELIT Scientist Selection Procedure/Scheme:
The Selection Procedure/Scheme of the Exam will be as follows: Written Exam, Interview
NIELIT Scientist Exam:
NIELIT is going to conduct the written examination in the following cities. For NIELIT Exam centers refer the official website. Candidates who have selected in Written Test are eligible for the next rounds. The NIELIT Syllabus & Exam Pattern are important aspects of knowing the structure of the Written Test. The Written Test consists of Multiple Choice Questions of Different Sections. Candidates who going to attending Exam can download the NIELIT Scientist Pattern and Syllabus on this page.
NIELIT Scientist Exam Pattern:
- The Written Examination shall be Objective type and OMR based.
- There will be total 120 objective type Questions consisting of 60 questions from respective stream and 60 questions on Generic Area. The Generic Area will comprise Logical, Analytical Reasoning Capabilities, Quantitative and Qualitative abilities and General Awareness and Aptitude.
- Every Question will carry 1 (one) mark and there will be negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer.
- Syllabus for the written examination will be uploaded soon.
- The minimum percentage to qualify the written examination will be 50% for General, 40% for OBC and 30% for the SC/ST categories.
Choice of Centre for Written Examinations and Interview:
Candidates shall indicate their choice for Centre for Written Examination from the cities listed below. No change of Centre will be permissible at a later date. NIELIT, however, reserves the right to direct the candidate to appear for Written Test at any location irrespective of his indicated choice depending upon the number of applications received and the administrative convenience

NIELIT Scientist Selection Process:
- The final selection of eligible candidates for appointment to the above mentioned posts will be based on the combined performance of the candidates both in the written examination and in interview.
- The weightage of marks for written examination and interview will be in the ratio of 85:15.
iii. Only the shortlisted candidates (based on merit position and reservation policy etc.), who have qualified the written examination, will be called for interview. Category SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates General and all others Rs.400/- per application. Rs.800/- per application. I
- Verification of requisite documents will be done at the time of the interview.
- Candidate shall be considered on the basis of his/her merit for selection in an organization and Stream for which he/she has given preference/option. Note: The candidate shall have to specify order of preference for all the three organization(s).
- Amongst successful candidates as per the final merit list, allotment of an organization would be made on the basis of his/her merit position, reservation policy and priority specified.
