IGM Junior Technician, Junior Office Assistant Selection Process:

The Selection Procedure of the Exam will be as follows:

  1. Written Exam
  2. Interview

 

Examination Centre: Online examination will be conducted at different centres in and around Kolkata city only.

 

Exam Pattern for IGM Junior Technician, Junior Office Assistant Posts:

Selection to the posts of Supervisor (Tech. Oprs.) at S-1 Level will be done on the basis of online examination which will be of objective type. Total marks of the online examination will be 150. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer for online examination. The duration of the examination is 120 minutes. The details are as under:

The objective type online examination will consist of following components:

(b) Selection to the posts of Engraver-III at B-4 Level will be done on the basis of online examination which will be of objective type. Total marks of the online examination will be 150. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer for online examination. The duration of the examination is 120 minutes. The details are as under:

Total marks of the online examination will be 150. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer for online examination. The duration of the examination is 120 minutes. The details are as under:

(d) Selection to the posts of Jr. Office Assistant & Jr. Bullion Assistant at B-3 level will be done on the basis of online examination which will be of objective type. Total marks of the online examination will be 160. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer for online examination. The duration of the examination is 120 minutes. The details are as under:

The objective type online examination will consist of following components:

  1. After online examination, the applicants will be shortlisted for Typing Test based on the merit list of online examination.
  2. Typing Test in English/Hindi (English @ 40 wpm/Hindi @ 30 wpm) will be conducted. Typing Test will only be of qualifying nature and assessment will not be done on the basis of its marks.

iii. The final selection will be made on the basis of Merit list as per marks obtained in Online Examination only.

 

  1. Number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the Corrected Score. Each candidate will have to secure a minimum score in each of the tests as well as on the total score. The cut-off points to qualify in each of the tests will be decided based on the group norms. The passing marks in each of the test will be decided by the IGM, Kolkata on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level. Mere passing in individual tests may not be sufficient as candidates should also score sufficiently high on total in order of merit.
  2. In the Selection process, an applicant has to obtain high marks in the test and rank sufficiently higher to be allowed for next stage for further process of selection. The minimum marks will be decided by the IGM Kolkata based on the performance of the applicants in the online examination only. However, since the final selection would depend on the number of vacancies as also relative performance, merely qualifying in the online examination will not entitle an applicant to appointment in the Company. The final merit list will be drawn by the marks obtained in the online examination only.

III. The Corrected Scores obtained by a candidate are made equivalent to take care of the minor difference in difficulty level, if any, in each of the objective tests held in different sessions to arrive at the Equated Scores. Scores obtained by candidates on any test are equated to the base form by considering the distribution of scores of all the forms. Test wise scores and scores on total is reported with decimal points up-to two digits.

  1. Merely qualifying in the online examination will not entitle an applicant to appointment to the posts of Supervisor (Tech. Oprs.) at S-1 level, Engraver-III at B-4 level, Jr. Office Assistant at B-3 level, Jr. Bullion Assistant at B-3 level and Jr. Technician (Electronics) at W-1 Level in the India Government Mint, Kolkata.
  2. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer for online examination.
  3. The final merit list will be drawn by the marks obtained in the online examination. The minimum qualifying marks i.e., cut-off marks required to consider on order of merit for different categories of candidates are as under:
Un-reserved/EWS Category 55%
OBC 50%
SC/ST Category 45%
