Eligibility Criteria for IITM Vacancy 2017:

Educational Qualification:

1. Project Scientist D – B.E./B.Tech. or M.Sc with at least 60% of marks in Meteorology/ Oceanography/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Physics/ Geophysics(Meteorology)/ Mathematics or equivalent from a recognized university/institute. A minimum of 7 year experience of research )after Master’s degree( in Atmospheric Science/Oceanography/Climate Sciences or allied fields. Basic knowledge in model code handling and parameterization of different atmospheric processes and their representation in general circulation models.
2. Project Scientist C -B.E./B.Tech, Electronics and Communication, Instrumentation or Masters Degree in Physics, Electronics, Instrumentation Geophysics(Meteorology) from a recognized University/ Institution with at least 60% marks. A minimum of 3 years research experience in the field of Atmospheric Instrumentation relevant to clouds, aerosols and precipitation such as aerosol spectrometers, nephelometer, aethalometer, EC/OC analyser, Aerosol Chemical Speciation Monitor etc, Cloud physics equipments (CCN counter, Cloud probes, Microwave radiometric profiler, Ice Nuceli spectrometer etc), precipitation measuring systems (Optical, impact and video disdrometers, Microrain radar and raingauge)as evidenced by publications in the above field
3. Project Scientist B -B.E./B.Tech. orM. Scwith at least 60% of marks in Meteorology/ Oceanography/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Physics/ Geophysics(Meteorology)/ Mathematics or equivalent from a recognized university/institute.  A minimum of 7 year experience of research ) after Master’s degree( in Atmospheric Science/Oceanography/Climate Sciences or allied fields. Basic knowledge in model code handling and parameterization of different atmospheric processes and their representation in general circulation models.
4. Visiting Scientist – Ph.D degree with vast research experience (more than 25 years) in the area of Dendroclimate (tree-ring) studies and past climate reconstructions.  The candidate should have long experience in field campaigns, collection of climate proxy samples, laboratory measurements and analysis of past climatic variations
5. Junior Scientific Assistant – M.Sc. (Physics/ Meteorology/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Environmental Sciences/Geophysics(Meteorology) from a recognized University/ Institution with at least 60% of marks.  Minimum 1 year of research experience  Experience in installation, operation and maintenance of sensors for GHG measurement, Handling of equipment that works on CRDS/ICOS Technology. Experience in analysis of stable isotopes
6. Project Manager -B.E./B.Tech/M. Sc. with at least 60% of marks in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology / Geophysics(Meteorology)having basic knowledge of Statistics
7. Project Assistant- B.E/ B.Tech. (Electronics & Communication/ Electronics/ Instrumentation/ Mechanical/ Aeronautics) or M.Sc. (Physics/ Instrumentation/ Electronics /Geophysics(Meteorology) with at least 60% marks
8. UDC -Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.  Basic Knowledge of Computer operation  3years experience in Administration /Accounts/Purchase matters in Government organization/Autonomous body/PSU in PB-1 GP 1900 or its equivalent
9. Section Officer -Masters Degree from recognized University;  Operational computer knowledge Three (03) years experience preferably in Government Department/Autonomous Bodies/PSU
10. Computer Application Supporting Scientist -Master in computer applications (MCA)/ B.E./ B. Tech (computer Science)/IT. A minimum of 3 year in field of IT/Computer/Science and similar field Adequate knowledge of webpage designing, data uploading, porting software etc.
